Paper Decoration For A Really Cool Place

These are some paper decorations that I made for go lightly the last two nights for the launch of the new RAW CAFE. Yay, that's right - a vegan raw cafe in Montclair, NJ! If you live in the area, don't miss out on this, it's delicious, healthy, good for you and the earth.
I'm so happy that finally there is an option for healthy, vegan and raw food in the Montclair area.
And if you don't live in the area, I encourage you to look for a raw food restaurant and just try it, even if you're not vegan or a raw foodie. You have to try it to believe how yummy it is.

I worked with a vintage set of paper circles which you have to fold and glue together. It's really not complicated, it just takes a lot of time. As always I forgot to take pictures as I went along... I try to be better in the future :-)

Recipe Of The Month

Very Healthy (Almost :-) Raw Cupcakes

I made this with various toppings for my son's 5th birthday for his school celebration, family get-together and party and it always was a real big hit. As promised here's the recipe.

This recipe makes a total of about 30+ mini cupcakes - I decided to make them small for little kids. They are also very, very rich.

This is what you need for the bottoms:

* 2 cups raw almonds
* 10 Dates
* 2 Tsp cinnamon
* Pinch of salt
* 1 Tbs raw honey or maple syrup

Chop the nuts in food processor. I suggest if you don't own a high-speed blender you can also use one jar of raw almond butter. Add the dates, cinnamon and salt and mix. Add honey or syrup, mix.
Put a spoonful of the mix each in cupcakes forms.

Topping:

* 16 oz pack of Medjdool dates
* 1 Banana
* 1 Tsp Cinnamon
* 3-4 Tsp cocoa powder

Thoroughly blend all the ingredients in a food processor, and spread over the bottoms.

Garnish:

* chocolate rounds or
* colored sugar or
* fresh fruit
* or whatever you like

Et voila! Enjoy!

* Ever went to the organic bakery in town? Sally and Will at The Bread Company have an amazing sortiment of special-needs breads (wheat or gluten-free), desserts, pizzas and all baked goods that you can think of. They also do birthday cakes and special orders.

***Composting***

You live in a small apartment like us and can't compost in your own back yard but hate to see the good stuff go in the garbage?

I met a wonderful lady who you can bring your compost to.
